| Luang Prabang is a city located in north central Laos , where the Nam Khan river meets The Mekong River about 425kms. (264ml. ) north of Vientiane. It is the capital of Luang Prabang Province. The current population of the city is about 110,000.
The city was formerly the capital of a kingdom of the same name.Until the communist takeover in 1975, it was the royal capital and seat of government of the Kingdom of Laos.The city is also
notable as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The main part of the city consists of four main roads located on a peninsula between the Nam Khan and Mekong rivers.The city is well known for its numerous Buddhist temples and monasteries.Every morning, hundreds of monks from the various monasteries walk through the streets collecting alms. One of the major landmarks in the city is a large steep hill on which sits wat Phu Si. |

DAY. 1-Chiang Mai to Chiang Khong + 1 night stay in Namkhong Guesthouse.
Pick up time : 9.30a.m.-10.00a.m. Please get ready to be picked up from 9.30a.m. OR
Pick up time : 12.00- 12.30hrs. Please get ready to be picked up from 12.00hrs.
Transport : a Deluxe air-con. van with a skilful driver.
Drive through valleys and mountains to Chiang Rai, drive for 2 hrs. and make a stop at Pattharawadee Restaurant for a break to use clean toilet, have coffee, or meal ( by your own account ), then 1 1/2hr. drive to the white temple at Wat Rong Khoon, stay at the temple for 20minutes. Then continue driving northeast to Chiang Khong for 2 1/2 hours, arrive Chiang Khong and check-in in Namkhong Guesthouse for overnight stay.
7.00p.m. Have dinner at Namkhong Guesthouse.
DAY. 2-Chiang Khong-Huay Xai-Pak Beng.
7.30a.m. Have breakfast in the guesthouse.
8.30a.m. Transfer to the border and take a boat crossing to Huay Xai, Laos.
10.00a.m. boarding on boat and sail dowstream to Pak Beng. ( lunch box is prepared ).
5.00p.m. Arrive Pak Beng and stay overnight in this small village ( price of guesthouse / hotel is around 400Baht- 1,000Baht, your own payment that is not included in the package ).
DAY. 3-Pak Beng-Luang Prabang.
8.30a.m. Get on board, start a journey to Luang Brabang.
Suggest to buy something to eat before on board because no meal is served on the way.
5.00p.m. Arrive at Luang Prabang.
